Ta’ Nenu (143 St. Dominic’s Street, Valletta) – due to its close proximity to Sicily, Malta has its own version of pizza. Known locally as ftira, it’s thick-crusted (like Sicilian pizzas, but with sesame seeds on top of the crust), and has toppings such as capers, Gozitan cheese and olives, and on occasion fish, meat and/or potato. Traditional Italian pizzas are also served here, along with some local dishes. With computers made available for school children to play video games, this is a family-friendly restaurant.
